As per the Karnataka forest (amended) 2001 section 108 FEE l6 F.S.W. the grower himself as owner of the tree. To encourage farmers and to take elevate the cultivation of Sandalwood on commercial scale. The Govt. of Karnataka Vide Notification No FEE 21 FSW 2008 dated 11/07/2008 notified Karnataka Soaps & Detergents ltd and Karnataka state Handicrafts Development Corporation has the nodal agencies for to buy Sandalwood directly from the growers.
